Jürgen Neudert

Born in 1970 in Erlangen, Germany.

Studied classical trombone at the Nürnberger Meistersinger Conservatory, with Silvan Koopmann untill 1990. Advanced studies in jazz trombone at the Conservatory of Cologne with Jiggs Whigham, where he graduated with honors in 1998.

Played in Peter Herbolzheimer's youth jazz orchestra 'BuJazzO' in the mid nineties. As a professional musician Jürgen played as both section player and lead soloist with all major German broadcasting orchestras (WDR, NDR, RIAS, HR, and SWR), the Charles Mingus Orchestra, Peter Herbolzheimer's Rhythm Combination & Brass, the Sunday Night Orchestra, the Paul Kuhn Big Band, Peter Herborns Large Ensemble, the Thilo Wolf Big Band, and Wil Salden's Glenn Miller Orchestra.
With his own quartet Jürgen won the award of the Leipziger Nachwuchs Jazzfestival in 1995, and - as first European ever - the 'Frank Rosolino Memorial Award' from the International Trombone Association in 1996.
Next to big and small jazz bands, Jürgen played lead trombone at many musical and theatre productions, such as 'Saturday Night Fever' in Köln, München and Basel, 'Starlight Express' in Bochum, '42nd Street' in Stuttgart, and 'Grease' & 'Chicago' in Düsseldorf.

Current bands and projects include Wil Salden's Glenn Miller Orchestra, Jürgen Neudert Quartet, Florian Ross Band, Gabriel Perez' Grande Banda, and Interzone.

Teaches trombone with Herbolzheimer's BuJazzO and various federal youth orchestras in Germany. Since 2005 Jürgen is teaching jazz trombone at the 'Franz Liszt' Music University in Weimar, Germany. As free lance teacher he participates in many jazz and big band workshops throughout Europe.
