Jens Düppedrums |
Born in 1974 in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany.Studied studied jazz drums at the music high school 'Franz Liszt' in Weimar from 1992-1996. Advanced studies in Amsterdam, The Netherlands at the 'Amsterdam Conservatory of Music', which he concluded with a masters degree in 2002. In 2001 Jens received a scholarship from the Dutch government to study and live in New York City, USA. Played as a regular member of Peter Herbolzheimer's German youth big band 'BujazzO' during the nineties. In 2003 Albert Mangelsdorff brought him to the German-French Jazz Ensemble. With this big band he played at international festivals such as Nice or the Frankfurt Palmengarten. With other bands Jens Düppe played at various major international Jazzfestivals, like the North Sea Jazz Festival (The Hague, The Netherlands), ReijkiavikJazz (Reijkiavik, Iceland), ScullersJazzWeek (Boston, USA), IAJE (New York, USA), Jazz sous les Pommes (Coutance, France), the VarnaJazzSummer (Bulgaria), the Viersen Jazzfestival (Viersen, Germany), and the Leverkusen Jazzfestival (Leverkusen, Germany). Jens also performed at live radio & TV shows of nationwide German broadcasting stations such as ARD, ZDF, SAT1, PRO SIEBEN, WDR, and SWR.
