Born in 1964 in Braunschweig, Germany.Studied double bass and electric bass at the Hilversum Conservatory in the Netherlands with Koos Serierse and Rob Langereis, and graduated in 1992. Played with the band NEA, and won the award of the Jazz podium Niedersachsen in 1986 and 1988. As a member of the Hans Wanning Trio he won the Niedersachsen Award in 1989. With Raise the Roof, Ingo won the National Grand Price of the Netherlands (a prestigious nation wide annual contest for pop, rock and crossover bands) in 1995. On winning the Heineken Crossover Award with Raise the Roof in 1996, the band toured the USA on invitation of the Heineken Brewery. With Raise the Roof, Ingo recorded four CD's thusfar, of which the third album Groove shot was nominated for the German Edison Award. As a fully employed jazz bassist, Ingo Senst played with among others Engelbert Wrobel, Ferdinand Povel, Michiel Borstlap, Wim Overgaauw, Deborah Brown, Romy Cameron, Rosani Reis, Paul Heller, Birelli Lagrene, Philippe Catherine, Sylvia Droste, Michael Arlt, Jeff Cascaro, Wolfgang Bleibel, Lis Harting, Jesse van Ruller, Ack van Rooyen, Martin Classen, Sebastian Altekamp, Werner Neumann, Ben van der Dungen, Herb Geller, Bireli Lagrene, Ed Kroeger, Wolfgang Engstfeld, Uli Beckerhoff, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, King of Swing Orchestra, Big Band Bremen and HR-Big Band. Current bands and projects include Wil Salden's Glenn Miller Orchestra, Raise the Roof, Oliver Groenewald Newnet, and Interzone. Teaches bass at the Jazz Academy in Dortmund since 1995. |
