André Cimiotti Born in 1975 in Marburg, Germany.

Studied oboe at the Music School of Marburg, and saxophone with Harry Petersen from the HR Big Band in Frankfurt.
Advanced studies at the Conservatory of Köln, where he graduated in 2003 on clarinet and saxophones with Wolfgang Engstfeld, Frank Gratkowski, Heiner Wiberny and Claudio Puntin.

Played lead alto in the Youth Jazz Orchestra of Hessen, and the BuJazzO youth big band, conducted by Peter Herbolzheimer.
Co-founded the Cologne Saxophone Quintet. This quintet won a 'special achievement' award at the 'Yamaha sax contest' in 2003, and had a guest appearance of former US-president Bill Clinton at the festival for the German media awards. During a concert tour in the USA, the quintet recorded some original pieces with Bob Mintzer. Their cooperation with Mintzer resulted in the production of the CD 'YO!, which was released in Germany early 2005.
Other bands and projects in which André Cimiotti participated include Jerry van Rooyen's Cologne Concert Big Band, Frank Eberle Septet, Frankfurt Jazz Big Band, Kings of Swing Orchestra, Tippett Ensemble, Big Band Convention, WDR Big Band, Michael Brecker, Conte Candoli, Jeff Clayton, David Liebman, Albert Mangelsdorff, Ack van Rooyen, and John Ruocco.

Current bands and projects include Wil Salden's Glenn Miller Orchestra, Cologne Saxophone Quintet, André Cimiotti Quintet, and Interzone.
